The roots of our company sit within the
wholesale markets of the UK. Our three
wholesale outlets are located in Birmingham,
Bristol and Southampton with our teams
of traders and porters continuing to work
through the night.
Customers for our wholesale branches are caterers, foodservice operators,
hospitality clients, independent retailers and local chains. Our delivery
fleets provide an efficient solution to connect our customers with
their order as quickly as possible.

is an important part of our Fresca strategy
for the long term. Core product areas
such as grapes benefit enormously from
innovation and new variety developments.
Fresca Group is a partner in the
table grape breeding programme
of the Agricultural Research Organization,
Volcani Centre, in Israel.
Together with an international team we have
been working in collaboration to help fund and
direct the new variety work of the renowned Dr Avi Perl.
Grape Evolution Ltd was established in 2017; this business
has the European and North African commercial
rights to the new varieties from this breeding programme
and to some existing grape varieties already released
by ARO and in commercial production.

The technology of tomorrow combines with the
brightest minds in horticulture at this major Kent
landmark. Producing millions of sustainably-grown
speciality tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers.
On the
north Kent coast
near Birchington this
commercial greenhouse site has been
operational since 2009. It’s the UK’s most
technologically-advanced site of its kind, with an
approximate investment spend of £125m.
Around 18% of all tomatoes grown in the UK are produced here.
Construction will continue until the site reaches its planned potential
with 55 hectares of glasshouse on the 95 hectare site. Fresca
Group is a joint venture partner in this business along with
three specialist grower companies. The crops are grown
specifically to serve demand in the UK retail sector,
with additional volumes available for
wholesale or foodservice. Thanet Earth is
an importer too, with great
operational capacity that
benefits from the very latest
storage and packing systems.

What began
as an interspecific breeding
programme, crossing strong performing
varieties across plums, apricots and nectarines in the
main, has become a renowned source of really interesting
and commercially-viable new varieties of stone fruit.
Based in South Africa, CPC is another example of an innovative
Fresca joint venture business, linking Fresca with one of the leading
growers in RSA. The trees marketed by CPC are all from the Zaiger
breeding programme and are the results of years of
diligent research and development.
The varieties are designed to appeal to growers
and to end customers alike – breeding for
flavour, colour, yield, consistency
and harvest window.

The operational home for DGM
Growers is in Holbeach in Lincolnshire,
with commercial team based at The Fresh
Produce Centre at Paddock Wood. DGM is
a subsidiary of Mack, with the companies working
closely together.
Most crops for DGM are UK-grown, with technologists
travelling extensively to support farmers and ensure
standards of product quality are met. The UK peas and
beans season is a particularly busy time. Some crops are
imported during non-UK season, with teams at source
working to procure and helping with logistics.
No ordinary vegetable company,
DGM Growers is where the more
exotic vegetable crops are found.
It’s the UK’s only commercial
grower of chicory, with fennel, chard,
celeriac, artichokes and pak choi
packed and sold too.
